Taxes are a type of social cost that individuals in a nation are required to pay in order to use the facilities and resources of a country to provide the ability to replace these facilities and resources. In other words, the tax is the transfer of part of society’s revenues to the government or part of the profits of economic activities that are received by the government because the government has provided the means and facilities to achieve revenues and profits.
